Amala in Uyirmei Serial

 In recent times, a trend has emerged where actresses from the mainstream film industry are making a transition to the small screen. Joining this trend is the renowned actress Amala, who has recently ventured into television.

Amala, a leading actress who starred in multilingual films during the late '80s, took a break from her acting career after getting married to Tollywood actor Nagarjuna. Now, after a hiatus of 22 years, she has made a comeback to the Tamil film industry through a television series on Zee Tamil.

Zee Tamil has been introducing innovative programs and serials, and the latest addition is the series titled 'Uyirmei.' The storyline revolves around six doctors working at the Dayanand Medical Foundation. In a recent interview, Amala shared that she wasn't initially inclined towards doing a television serial but was captivated by the unique plot of 'Uyirmei.' She expressed her interest in the challenge it presented and mentioned that the series stands out from others, reflecting the emotions of the audience and incorporating elements of music.

The 'Uyirmei' series boasts a grandeur hospital set spanning 20,000 square feet, designed by the renowned art director Thotta Tharani. The creative team includes directors Bhooshan and Priya, cinematographer ArunMozhi, with Radhika handling the story and screenplay. Tharan composed the title song with lyrics by Snehan. The team is delighted to announce that the series is scheduled to be broadcasted starting August 18, 2014, at 8:00 PM.
